This year has been an incredibly exciting one for cruise-goers everywhere, and it’s only going to get more exciting as we get closer to the end of the year. That’s because some of the world’s biggest and most luxurious cruise lines have launched or will be launching their newest ships. Not only are these ships technically advanced, they’ll also be embarking on some truly stunning itineraries, including one that will take passengers across the Arctic Circle!
On this list, we’ve collected the six ships launching this year that you should be most excited about. One of them comes from a cruise line that’s built quite a reputation for itself by offering river cruises and that will be now be taking its first tentative steps into the sea. Two of these ships are among the biggest to take to the oceans and offer amenities and entertainments that need to be seen to be believed. And two of them may very well offer the most luxurious cruising experiences that money can buy.
So what are the ships that you can’t miss in 2015? Well, get ready for a quick tour of each of them, and decide for yourself which one you’ll be cruising on in the near future!
1. Anthem of the Seas
Royal Caribbean recently unleashed the Anthem of the Seas on the world, the sister ship to the massive Quantum of the Seas.
At full capacity, the Anthem of the Seas is capable of housing nearly 5,000 passengers; it’s that huge!
If you book passage, be sure to get out on the “North Star” which extends out over the boat to offer 360-degree views of the surroundings.
Even if you don’t get a room with a balcony room, the interior cabins are treated to stunning “virtual balconies”.
Currently, the Anthem of the Seas is cruising European itineraries, but it will be coming to the United States later this year.
2. Le Lyrial
For those looking for the luxury yachting experience, Ponant’s Le Lyrial is the ship you’ve been waiting for.
At most, the ship will be carrying 244 passengers, all of whom will be treated to the utmost in luxury and class.
Virtually every stateroom aboard Le Lyrial offers guests the chance to enjoy their own private balcony.
And, if you want to get off the boat, then you’ll be able to do so aboard one of Le Lyrial’s zodiac boats, which are available to passengers.

3. MV Britannia
When it launched earlier this year, the MV Britannia became P&O Cruises’ largest ship and its flagship.
This ship is capable of carrying up to 4,324 passengers, and features staterooms and suites for a full range of budgets.

4. Norwegian Escape
When, Norwegian Cruise Lines’ latest ship, the Escape, launches this fall, it will be capable of accommodating up to 4,258 passengers.
Like other Norwegian ships, the Escape is loaded for fun. For example, check out the stunning “Aqua Park”, with its slides, pools and amusements.
For a more relaxing time, you can enjoy a number of al-fresco dining options along the promenade, which is almost a quarter-of-a-mile long.
If you really want the view, be sure to stop by the “The Plank”, a cantilevered area attached to the ship’s ropes course.

5. Viking Star
Viking Cruises has made an international name for itself by offering stunning river cruises. The Star is the first of their ships that will take to the seas.
The ship is capable of carrying up to 930 passengers and offering each generous and luxurious accommodations.
Up on deck, the stunning infinity pool is sure to capture many a passenger’s interest.
But, that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the incredibly detailed and classy design of this beautiful ship.

6. MS Saint Laurent
With only 105 staterooms, this cruise ship from Haimark Lines may be small in stature, but it’s big on luxury and amenities.
Although the ship is capable of ocean going, it’s been specifically designed for costal cruises.
While on board, you can enjoy stunning views from one of the chaise lounges on the beautiful sundeck.
Over this summer and into the fall, the MS Saint Laurent will be offering cruises of the Great Lakes out of Chicago and Montreal.
Once 2016 rolls around, the MS Saint Laurent will be embarking on some exciting cruises out of Miami, that will take people around the island nation of Cuba.
