But, here’s the one thing that virtually everyone understands about summer vacations. One’s never alone when it comes to picking a destination for a summer vacation. As such, you always seem to find yourself in a place that’s crowded, which definitely cuts into one’s ability to truly enjoy the summer weather.
This is why we thought it would be good idea to take a look at some un-crowded and relaxing summer vacation destinations. These are places that you can go where you won’t have to worry about the crush of the masses. Therefore, you’ll truly be able to have that totally chill vacation you’ve been dreaming about.
1. Bocas del Toro (Panama)
Here’s a place where you can enjoy that warm and beautiful Caribbean water without having to contend with other tourists.
2. National Marine Park
When you’re there, be sure that you take the time one day to visit the National Marine Park. It’s totally cool!
3. Antigua
During the summer months, it’s possible to check out everything that Antigua has to offer without dealing with crowds.
4. English Harbor
This means you can do all of the sightseeing you want in places like the English Harbor or in Stingray City.
5. St. Croix (U.S. Virgin Islands)
The Virgin Islands are always hopping, but for whatever reasons St. Croix manages to feel not-overly-crowded most of the year.
6. Summer Loving
If you really want to experience this island without the crowds and on the cheap, be sure to visit during the summer months.
7. Akijima (Japan)
Off the coast of Western Japan is where you’ll find this absolutely breathtaking island.
8. Authentic Experience
This isn’t a place that many Westerners go, so if you visit, be sure to bring an English-to-Japanese dictionary.
9. St. Vincent and the Grenadines
Here’s a place you can get all of the beauty and splendor of a place like St. Lucia without all of the crowds.
10. Canouan
Of course, the main island of St. Vincent usually has the most crowds, so you may want to travel to one of the outlying smaller islands like Canouan.
11. Bonaire
Part of the ABC Islands, this is place you can go if you want to zig while other travelers to the Caribbean are zagging.

Those who are looking to do some amazing snorkeling in the Caribbean will find plenty of opportunities in Bonaire.

The Greek Isles are getting a lot of attention these days, yet Naxos continues to fly under the radar… For now.

We don’t expect Naxos to fly under the radar forever, given how beautiful its beaches are. Wow!
15. Sicily (Italy)
Here’s a place where you can get the flavor of Italy without the crowds you’ll find in places like Florence, Rome and Venice.

Plus, if you choose to take your Italian vacation in Italy, it means you can check out the famous Mount Etna.
17. Isla Mujeres (Mexico)
Just off the coast from party-central in Mexico, Cancun, you’ll find this tiny and relaxing island.

If you do visit this treasure, this is definitely one of the cool things you can check out there, in addition to other fun places.
19. Playalinda Beach (Florida)
Florida is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, which many travelers well know. Playalinda is off most travelers’ radar, though.
20. Unspoiled Sand
That means you’ll be able to really spread out and relax here. Just be aware that there isn’t much in the way of food and entertainment options in the immediate area.
