If you ask most travelers, they’ll probably agree on one thing. Dealing with most airports can really be a pain in the neck. Like it or not, many of the world’s busiest airports simply don’t care about the people who are passing through them. And that’s leaving aside the question of getting through security, which we all know is the absolute worst.
Believe it or not, though, some airports know how to do things right. That’s why the World Airport Awards take place every year. They recognize the best of the best, giving those lesser airports something to aspire towards… We hope.
So what are the 15 best airports in the entire world according to the World Airport Awards? Let’s count them down…
15. Helsinki Airport
This one of the best airports in the world in which to have a long layover. That’s because it provides sleep pods for getting some much needed Z’s if they’re necessary.
14. Vancouver International Airport
As you pass through this airport, you might not even believe you’re in an airport at all. There are so many art and sculpture exhibits that it begins to feel more like being in a museum!
13. Amsterdam Airport Schiphol
Did you tie on a tight one during your trip to Amsterdam? If so, then maybe you should spend some time in this airport’s library, which is the first such airport library in the world.
12. Frankfurt Airport
The international hub for Lufthansa, you’re sure to get the first-class treatment if you’re flying on that airline through this airport.
11. Narita International Airport
This airport has everything the discerning travel could ever want for, and it even houses a museum dedicated to the culture of Kabuki theater.
