Carnival Cruises is one of the finest cruise ship operators in the entire world, and the Carnival Splendor is one of its most unique offerings. In fact, it’s the only member of Carnival’s Concordia-class line. If that name sounds familiar, then it should. The Splendor was originally under construction of Costa cruise lines, but Carnival ended up taking over construction mid-way through its development. That’s why this ship looks more like a cruise ship in the Costa line than it does a Carnival cruise ship.
This uniqueness, of course, is present in other design elements of the ship. Originally launched in 2008, there are things aboard the Splendor that you simply won’t find on other Carnival cruise ships. For example, the pool situation on board is unique to the Splendor and totally cool – we’ll get to that. Also, you’re going to find a number of different dining options which differ from what you’ll find on other Carnival cruise ships, particularly those that have received recent “Funship 2.0” upgrades.
So, what makes the Carnival Splendor so cool, and why should you consider booking a cruise aboard her? Well, take a look at the 21 pictures that follow, and we think you’ll understand perfectly well what makes her so cool.
1. Holy Ship!
Having entered service in 2008, the Splendor is one of Carnival’s larger ships, capable of carrying over 3,000 passengers at a time.
2. Lido Pool
When it comes to entertainment up on deck, the Lido Pool is always buzzing, particularly due to its massive outdoor screen.
3. Slip Sliding
Oh, and there’s also an incredible water slide that leads directly next to the Lido Pool as well!
